CAMPING FOR SOFTIES
If you like the idea of camping on your touring holiday in Scotland, but don’t have a tent - try glamping. Glamping pods are small wooden structures with a sleeping space and a table and chairs. They vary in size and what is inside. Some may be basic, with only a sleeping space and seating, others have electricity, a fridge, a microwave and a kettle. You can also find more luxurious ones, such as at Lomond Woods and Mortonhall.. If there are no en-suite facilities, then showers and toilets are in central blocks nearby.Take your own sleeping bag, towels, cooking and eating utensils, Some pods have a barbecue outside the door. Car-parking space is right outside or nearby. .
Length of stay: You can often book a pod for one night only, but there is likely to be a minimum of two nights durng the main season..
The price: Prices vary depending on the season. Expect to pay from £40 per night for the accommodation (per unit, not per person), depending on the season, the number of people and the facilities provided. Extra may be charged for a dog.

The internal photographs were supplied to us by Queensberry Bay Holiday Park. Some of the external shots were supplied by Scots Pods who also make garden pods. www.scots-pod.com
