Thistle Holiday Parks are top-class holiday parks in Scotland. The parks are designated a Holiday Park (over 100 pitches) or a Small Holiday Park (fewer than 100 pitches) and you can see what they are on their entry. They may have an award of 4 or 5 stars from VisitScotland which means that they are 'excellent' or 'exceptional'. The range of facilities varies from park to park;. almost all have a children's play area, but not all have a restaurant. The symbols on each entry tell you what there is on the park and nearby, sandy beaches, walking trails, golf. .. .
You can hire a lodge or a caravan holiday home or a glamping pod. These are owned by the park so everything is spick and span for your arrival. There is space alongside or nearby for your car. Caravan holiday homes have 2 or 3 bedrooms (one en suite); a comfortable lounge; a shower room and a toilet; and a modern kitchen. They are connected to mains electricity, water and drainage, and are double-glazed (if let outwith the main season). Not all parks supply linen; please ask when you book. Some parks have holiday homes which are accessible if you have a mobility impairment. Lodges are bigger and may have four bedrooms. Glamping pods come in all shapes and sizes!
Thinking of buying? Buying a holiday home or a lodge on a Thistle Holiday Park may be the best option for you. Ask the park of your choice what they have for sale; they will talk you through the process of buying, e.g. the insurance, the annual pitch fee, and their terms and conditions.
